Yes, all Sponge Media will eventually sink. The rate at which this happens depending on the size of media and the density of the abrasive. Generally, the operator will have a recovery time of at least an hour. Some Sponge Media, especially the less abrasive types (Blue Sponge Media and Green Sponge Media) that don't have steel grit or aluminium oxide embedded may take a few days to sink.
The Sponge-Jet Media product, as sold by Sponge-Jet or its authorized resellers, in an unused state, is non-toxic as per published Safety Data Sheets. Exposure through use could commingle external contaminants with the Sponge-Jet Media. This could alter the Non-toxic condition.
Sponge Media is intended to be disposed of in a manner consistent with all applicable regulations and laws germane to the location of use.
